We are a multipronged arts enterprise:

Mothership NYC (est. 2005) on Green Street, Brooklyn, is the artists’ residence where we live, Last Frontier NYC (est. 2014) is Captain Sol’s painting studio, a huge warehouse loft located a few blocks away below the Kingsland Wildflowers rooftop gardens (est. 2016) @ Broadway Stages. In addition to the two sister venues Mothership NYC-Last Frontier NYC, Sol also runs NOoSPHERE Arts , a 501c3 nonprofit she founded in 2011. Originally a Manhattan gallery for artist colleagues from elsewhere, this organization now serves as arts producer and presenter on the outdoor stages surrounding Kingsland Wildflowers. With a special focus on systems thinking, our multidisciplinary programming is directed by a team of international creatives whose backgrounds blend the arts and sciences

Candidate will be assisting two people:

Sol Kjok, a visual artist who founded and runs both Mothership NYC and NOoSPHERE Arts  (https://www.newinc.org/year-10-mentors/sol-kjok); and NOoSPHERE Arts’ Deputy Director Daniela Holban (https://www.newinc.org/year-10-mentors/daniela-holban)

Under Sol’s supervision, the trainee will help organize the monthly arts salons (https://www.mothership.nyc/monthly-salons) and other practical errands related to the running of the arts residency platform. If candidate is from a creative field, we can offer low-cost housing within the residency for the entire 3-month stay (Google reviews from resident artists and visitors here: https://g.page/MothershipNYC?gm)

Under Daniela’s supervision, the candidate will assist with the planning and execution of the summer program season at NOoSPHERE Arts: From July through September, we will host several multidisciplinary outdoor events (see
